Mat Pilates

Pilates hits your core (or, in Pilates speak, your “powerhouse”) unlike any other workout. It really sculpts the abs when done with proper form & my current Pilates clients are already seeing amazing results from more strength gains in Personal Training sessions due to a stronger core, a more toned tummy & glutes, & it’s offering those with knee pain who are unable to perform squats & lunges properly an amazing leg workout without the impact. Even though the pace is much slower, the burn in your muscles is something else & is amazing for connecting the mind & body. I will teach you the correct form to train the pilates way so that you can get the most from your sessions. Clients who also combine Pilates with PT sessions are seeing amazing results.
We love it!

About 12 months ago I decided to include some Pilates into my exercise regime.
I started with 1 session a week and soon loved it and picked up the second. I loved it as I found that it really complimented the hard work I was doing with PT and seeing the results that were coming from doing both keep me coming back from more.

By doing Pilates and learning to engage my muscles for a targeted workout I found that my muscles, (core and glutes especially) have become stronger allowing me to work out harder and longer in both Pilates and PT and further to that I was starting to see the results with weight loss and toning.

My own injuries had in the past prevented me from being able to do some Pilates moves but as I’ve gotten stronger, I’ve learnt to engage the right muscles and have become more flexible in order to overcome them. I am even more aware of engaging my muscles right throughout the day now. All benefits from doing Pilates.

By utilising equipment such as bosu balls, exercise bands and circles Rach is able to keep the Pilates sessions different, exciting and above all challenging. Just when you think you’ve got the hang of something Rachel ups the ante which is great.

The sessions are professional but fun with great people who I now consider to be my friends.

No matter what skill level you are at, no matter what injury you may be carrying Rachel can tailor/adjust all pilates moves to ensure that you are still getting the workout you want and need.

Rachel’s commitment to her clients is inspiring in itself and you can tell that she truly cares. My triumphs are her triumphs and my disappointments are her disappointments.

Just don’t say you CAN’T do something her determination to prove you CAN will win over no matter how long it takes…..Which for me is what I want in a trainer.

Thanks Rach for all the hard work and effort you put into your sessions.

15kg down and closer to my weight goal.

I was also the biggest sceptic about the benefits of Pilates, but I love free stuff so when Rach from Ignyte was offering a free come and try pilates class I was happy to try, but not convinced it was for me. Too slow, quiet and a bit alternative were my initial thoughts.

The first session felt weird, it hurt like a pt but without the elevated heart rate. I kind of liked it enough to try it a couple more times.

After about a month I had my ‘ahah’ moment, during pt I was attempting a core exercise I couldn’t do previously and when I attempted it this time I felt strong and confident! I’ve never looked back, Pilates is a part of my weekly training routine.

My core has never been this strong, my butt hasn’t looked this good since I was in my late teens and my confidence to train harder and lift heavier weights in PT is growing every day.

My Saturday Pilates/PT double is my absolute favorite workout of the week. Pilates has helped me loose 15 kgs, but more importantly become an energetic, tenacious and fit woman and mother!
