ESSENTIAL LIFESTYLE TIPS!
1. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY
Listen for signs of when you’re full, truly hungry, the types of foods your body really feels like, when you’re tired etc. What foods make you feel sick or feel great after eating them.
2. FOCUS ON PROPER SLEEP
Aim to get to bed at the same time every night, aim for 7-8 hours every night. Some studies have shown that every hr of sleep before midnight equals to 2 hrs after it in terms of deep sleep.
3. MANAGE YOUR STRESS
Meditation (there are so many different ways to meditate), other ways to manage stress can be a walk in nature, laugh with friends, start a hobby, practice acts of kindness, positive self-talk & affirmations, ask for help, less time watching TV, more time reading & journaling.
Keeps your body strong, energetic and happy. Create a routine that excites you, exercise to have fun and be healthy, not just to lose weight.
5. HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS
Surround yourself with those that are encouraging, happy, healthy and energetic will have a positive effect on how you carry yourself and view life.
6. LOVE WHAT YOU DO
Do what you LOVE, LOVE what you do. Be creative…
Embrace your strengths & weaknesses, take responsibility for yourself, respect and know yourself. A great book about self-love is, ‘You Can Heal Your Life” by Louise Hayes. I highly recommend it!
Knowing that there is something greater then you and aim at developing a connection to that energy. It can be different for everyone. Spirituality nourishes the soul increases happiness, relieves stress and can foster a sense of purpose and appreciation for life.
Having emotional eating issues or issues with food and weight are, most of the time ‘nothing to do with the food’ and everything to do with any and all of the above areas not being completely in line with who you are, and want to be at a much deeper level. Stop pretending that you are happy and do something about it one step at a time.
